There are quite a few traps I see when it comes the vision of a leader.
Some of them are:
- No actual strategy to realize that vision
- An elaborate strategy to realize that vision without an actual roadmap, broken down into smaller, clearly defined and achievable milestones (just as dangerous as the first)
- Making your vision known to the world and dusting off your hands thereafter, expecting others to do the heavy lifting because hey, you’re the boss!
- Thinking too much, doing very little
- Not willing to take the kind of ownership a vision demands
